DENTAL IMPLANT OPTIONS

TEETH IN A DAY:

This process involves taking your existing denture and converting into a fixed or stable prosthesis by attaching it to a number of dental implants. The denture is then screwed down onto the implants and becomes functional the same day of surgery.

SINGLE TEETH IMPLANTS:

Whether you are missing one or more single teeth, single teeth implants are the optimal replacement option in recreating the proper form, shape and contour again. With proper care, they can last a lifetime.

IMPLANT BRIDGE:

In a situation where there are multiple teeth missing side by side, we sometimes do not need to replace each tooth with a single implant. We can often use fewer implants joined or splinted together to serve the same function.

IMPLANT RETAINED DENTURE:

Often with full dentures especially involving the lower jaw, there are retention issues. Often adhesive is needed to retain the denture especially with extensive bone loss that occurs over the years. Dentures that are retained by implants address this issue, and often make a tremendous improvement in your self-esteem and daily lifestyle.

BONE AUGMENTATION:

Often when a tooth has been missing for some time, there is a gradual loss of vertical height and width of bone volume. In certain situations, before an implant is placed into the area, we need to increase the dimension of the area. Often we can use synthetic or donor bone to rebuild the area prior to implant placement.

Our team of dentists in Bowmanville are trained in the use of PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) Therapy to accelerate healing during surgical procedures such as for dental implant placement and bone/gum grafts.

The PRF is a fibrin matrix prepared using your own blood at the time of surgery. Surgical sites filled with PRF show faster healing times and improved gum and bone healing. PRF is very similar to procedures being used to help professional athletes recover faster from sports injuries.

Dr. Mark Bishara is a published author on the topic of PRF and its application in top dental magazines such as Dentistry Today.
