How do clear invisible braces work?

Invisalign is a method of moving teeth without metal braces. They work by placing pressure on teeth which slowly move them to new positions using a set of clear aligners. Invisalign braces should be worn during sleep ! We recommend wearing the aligners for 20-22 hours a day, and only remove them to eat and brush your teeth. What Happens if You Take Invisalign Out at Night? Without constant pressure, your braces cannot work as quickly as we need it to.  Teeth can also revert back to their old alignment and this can set treatment back or needing to restart a phase of the treatment again. How to Know Your Teeth Are Out of Alignment If you forget to wear your aligners for a few days , you may notice your teeth are sore when you have the aligners in again.  The discomfort should only last a few days as…

Gaps between teeth We sometimes get a request from patients for a gap between the upper central front teeth which they may view as unique.  For most patients however, a cosmetic makeover case should show no noticeable gaps or spaces between teeth and there should be no appearances of spaces or gaps between the teeth, rather the area should be filled with healthy gum tissue. Smile midline This is the point of reference where the two front teeth of the…

How many implants needed?

We often get asked by patients how many dental implants are needed to replace missing teeth.  Teeth can be lost due to a number of factors including poor hygiene, decay, gum disease or system factors(uncontrolled diabetes, smoker status). Although every case is different, in general for a single missing space we place a single dental implant to restore your smile.  Implants are a predictable and reliable way to replace missing teeth. Dental implants are permanently fixed in place to help you chew your food and can prevent jaw bone shrinkage associated with tooth loss. Dental implants are made of metal, titanium and sometimes non-metal options are available During the assessment of your eligibility for dental implants, your mouth may undergo a scan known as a CBCT scan(Cone Beam CT), which takes less than 30 seconds. 3D planning techniques will be deployed to make sure the procedure is done with a…
